I WENT OUTDOOR TO CLIMB FOR THE FIRST TIME OHOHOHOHOHOH!! XD

but first!

Let me recap to a few days ago (thursday)

OMFG LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT F***ing HOLE!! XD

Sigh... I'm a climbing addict please forgive me

Hahahahaha, both shoes also got hole, but the left shoe was HUGE

Guess I put too much weight on my left in my climbs

My nails are messed up and outta shape and dirty too thanks to climbing
at camp5

Uhh.. really need a pedicure XD

T_T my toe suffered a lot thanks to d hole

Hahaha, you can ask my friends, when I climb can here my toe nail
scrapping on the wall

The moral of the story is... cut ur nails?

NO!! it's BUY NEW SHOE MUAHAHAH! XD

So I went to camp5 in this morning to get em!!

i SOOO wanted the predator!! it looks cool!!

But sadly... outta stock T_T

So my second option.... OPTIMUS PRIME!! XDDDDD

I like strap on shoes, easy :D laces literally kill me

BUT DON'T HAVE OPTIMUS PRIME NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!! T_T

Difference number 1 between outdoor and indoor climbing :

-you can't go half naked indoors but outdoors WHO THE HELL CARES!?!??!

Difference number 2 between outdoor and indoor climbing :

-indoors you look down and go "shit!", outdoors you go WTF-CB-BBQ!@#!#!#!#!!$%$^@!?!?

One pitch is about 30meters

The entire height of this side of batu caves is 100m approximately

it SOUNDS short, try and go up there look down and you'll change your mind (:

Difference number 3 between indoor and outdoor climbing :

- you need a shoe, harness, belay device and at most rope in an indoor gym,
BUT OUTDOORS YOU NEED ALL THAT AND A SLING AND LIKE 12++ OVER QUICKDRAWS

and other stuff if u plan on doing other kinds of climbing

other than the rope XD

Difference 4 between climbing indoors and outdoors :

-The holds in the indoor gym are colour coordinated so you know what to hold, outdoors its
WHERE THE HELL IS THE GODDAMN NEXT HOLD????!!?!?!? *touch* touch* touch*

lol, yea you gotta feel around for a nice hold.

Or what are you expecting bright yellow rocks or something? LOL

So yea, we had to get used to that

To be honest though if the hold is really nice its REALLY nice

Ben was pretty nervous as it was his FIRST EVER outdoor climb!

Mine too, but it's not as scary as ya think la actually

It's just a mental block since we're so used to indoor climbing

Ben actually did pretty well, he fell once, but otherwise it wasn't much of a problem

I didn't fall, that's bad.. I should fall in order to get the feel of it.

Difference number 5 between indoor and outdoor climbing :

-indoors you hear the shout "ROPE!!" once in a while, but outdoors you hear it A HELL LOT!
It's like a call of the jungle "ROOOO~~OOOOO~~OOOPPPEEE~~"

Trust me, they shout, cuz they are so high up when they drop the rope down to the ground

You don't wanna get hit by falling rope trust me (:

Difference number 6 between indoor and outdoor climbing :

-indoors they have sweepers and all to clean the place, but outdoors ITS SHIT DIRTY I TELL YOU!!! XD

my NEW SHOES GOT STAINED THE MOMENT i wore it and walked around T_T

too used to walking around in the gym already so didn't notice that it would get stained...

See what I mean? Ben's shoes haha, I bet he's probably polishing them now or something

Okay so this is how to use quick draws. you see the bolt? it's in the middle of the picture

you see it right? its that small metal thing.

(yes your life is dependent on that bolt :D)

clip the quickdraw into the bolt as shown above

Clip in the rope to the other end of the quickdraw like above

Difference number 7 between indoor and outdoor climbing :

- indoors there is aircond. Outdoors there is sun and BUGS OMFG BUGS BUGS BUGS BUGS!! XDDDD

got ants, i flick them away before holding the next rock

alot of moss too, and also flies buzzing around, bee nests etc

and sometimes you hold a rock dirt starts falling onto ur face LOL!!

But hey that's true rock climbing man (:

This is the highest pitch we climbed today

It went through trees and ALOT of bugs

I seconded it (unclipped and collecting back the quickdraws, you ain't gonna leave them there!)

to unclip it you gotta climb the route of course :D

and ben top routed it (climb all the way to the top and reach the anchor)

A guy actually reached the top today (it was 3 pitches!)

and who is that guy?

none other than "kamikaze" Yan

why is he called that?

Cause he's known for really daredevil and courageous climbs

what do I mean by that?

If he falls in that 10 meters before the first clip you can risk breaking ur back or even worse

But the say it trains your courage, wonder if i have the guts to do it one day?

-indoors usually beginners can only do castle wall, but OUTDOORS THEY CAN CLIMB OVER 15 METERS !! EASILY!! cuz the holds are nice

and with our guidance of course XD

and you must hv guts of course to go that high haha

but that's what makes climbing such a great sport!!
